Deep frozen specimens for physiology studies on injured patients

Prof Chris Levi and Prof Mike Calford were Dr Tarrant’s original research mentors investigating novel therapeutics in stroke at the University of Newcastle. After completion of medical studies, under the guidance of Prof Zsolt Balogh and Laureate Prof John Attia, Dr Tarrant is completing a PhD focusing on areas of improving care in hip fracture management. The clinical importance of this work was highlighted by the award of a NSW Health PHD scholarship.
